A Saturday 'gypsy moment' . . . . . . . .

I drove no brightly painted Romany gypsy caravan - in fact I drove
my husband's brand new shiny car for the very first time.
We tootled around town a bit, under heavy clouds, rumbling thunder,
in and out of showers, running errands to buy
tomatoes, rosé wine, plump red plums.
Then, as I was wearing my junk gypsy necklace. . . . . we stopped at
SuzAnna's Antiques to take a quick look at all the latest treasures, and of
course to hug granddaughter Jasmin who was working there.

Saturday afternoon - late Summer - rain - humidity - lethargy.

  1. A lovely way to keep out of the rain. Hopefully the weather will clear soon to lessen the humidity. Have a wonderful Sunday my friend x

  2. Today has dawn a beautiful day, is this the start of an Indian Summer? and I shall be driving our new car down to see my granddaughter. The car is scary, it has so many gadgets, it talks to us, switches the lights on a dusk automatically, and completely takes charge when it rains. Enjoy your car - ours is a metallic tomato red.

  4. Sounds like a lovely time. Pretty necklace. The humidity here is unbearable. If I'm out too long I even have drops of sweat on my eyelashes and then come in stinking to high heaven.

  5. Such a cozy afternoon. I am proud of Jasmin for working in an antique shop. She will learn much about the past that way.

    1. Sarah, have always wanted to visit Round Top. Looked at that blog/website and loved it - surprised the town sign said pop. 90 for Round Top - had no idea it was so small!

  9. That store always has wonderful stuff. I took a liking to those fleur-de-lis on pedestals. What great accent pieces they would be. Good thing you're all the way across the continent!
    Sounds like a great weekend.
