Scribble Picnic. . . . . . One Of A Kind

Today I'm in a bit of a rush as there's much to do before going on a new adventure,
details of which I'll post in the next day or so.
However, I promised Michael I'd be here for SCRIBBLE PICNIC today - but then
 MIA for a while!

Back in the day I used to paint/decoupage these tall terra-cotta rose pots.
Scenes from nature were always popular, I sold many in a quaint vintage/garden
store on the way out of town where city meets country. I even had a sale in
my potting shed one Spring day - same day I held a yard sale - people grabbed
up them and I took several orders for more.

This one - ONE OF A KIND - I kept for myself.
Some day, when I have more time, I hope to make more.

I took a photo, edited to a sketch, and as usual added color
with watercolor pencils.

Here's the photo of my One Of A Kind pot.

Pop over to Michael's HERE to see what our little art group
has come up with for this week's fun theme. . . . . . and, dear Scribble Picnic
friends, I'll see you at future Wednesday 'picnics' when I return.

  1. Beautiful one of a kind pot Mary, you are so talented it's making those, and gorgeous art today.

  2. Love your pots Mary ...... mind you, I love all of your things !!! Wonderful photographs. XXXX

  3. Love the pot too and happy trails during your upcoming vacation.

  4. Hi Mary :) That is beautiful and certainly one of a kind! You're a very talented gal you know? :) Now GO PACK!!! :) xx

  5. Absolutely beautiful. Such a lovely and elegant design. How wonderful that you were able to bless so many people with your pots. I'm sure each one who has one calls it "one of a kind". What a great entry. Love it.

  6. I don't know much about pots but this one looks pretty.

    have a lovely day.

  7. I bet you really had a lot of fun making those and selling them. This is so pretty. Safe travels!

  8. Decoupage - it's been ages since I've done any of that. I really like how your pot turned out, and I'm sure the others were equally nice. I can see why you wanted to keep this one! Have a wonderful trip.

  9. It has been a long time since I thought of Decoupage ... what a beautiful job you did on your original, then again with your water color pencils. It takes a knack to conquer the water color pencils. I have tried and I have a long way to go before I can be as soft and subtle as yours. Beautifully done. Hope your travels are exciting and you come home with many new ideas for Scribble Picnic. Bon Voyage :)

    1. Decoupage--never even heard of that before! Wow. Wel done indeed and lovely take in the pencils too. I actualyl like your edited version better than the original photo. I feel the making of it more, if that makes any sense. OK, so I must say, I'm surprised to see you here at the picnic this week, dear Mary, thinking you would be off on far horizons by now. How much adventure awaits but we so appreciate the joi de vie you bring to our scribble picnics too so, thank you! GReat job and write up, as always. Safe journeys. I'll have the pot ready for you upon your return as we then go through all your lovely posts and photos! Enjoy. Godspeed!

  10. Looks good Mary, I like your idea for decoupage pots.

I would enjoy reading your comment - thanks so much for stopping by.
