Calm before the storm?

Good morning - and yes right now it is a beautiful day.
Later, who really knows.
Tropical Storm Elsa will pay us a visit late today and most of tomorrow.
High wind gusts, heavy rain, possible flooding.
Summertime in the south can be perfect one day, vicious the next!

A good morning to cut fresh snippets from the garden . . . . . and ponder over
things we cannot change.

  1. Dearest Mary,
From Florida I read already that it was by far not as bad as they had forecasted...
Hoping it will pass over quietly.
We have had a dreary dark day because of it lurking somewhere. No sunshine or good daylight.
    Hugs,
    Mariette

    1. Just started raining here this morning - 8 AM - dark and foreboding out there. Hoping the winds aren't too strong.
      Stay safe in your area.

  2. Dear Mary,
I hope that Elsa loses a lot of steam before heading up your way. Weather is certainly something none of us have any control over. Your garden snippets look so pretty.

    1. This type of tropical storm warning is so unsettling - sometimes they're correct, other times it's not as bad. Hoping we won't get blown or washed away in this one! It's going to do some damage all along the east as far north as Massachusetts!

  3. The weather has been very unsettled here, too; not even from one day to the next, but within a few hours we see high winds and rain, followed by a couple of hours of calm, golden sunshine in the late afternoon and early evening.
I sincerely hope your area will be spared the worst of Elsa!

  4. What a pretty display of snippets from the garden, you have such flair Mary. I had not heard about Elsa - our media talk nothing but Covid these day! Good luck and I hope you stay safe. I am very taken with the printed music behind your flowers - is it framed or somehow attached to a window frame? It looks absolutely lovely. xxx

    1. Hi Trish -
Yes, it's a vintage wooden window frame with glass. Added pages from a very old (1865) French illustrated journal.
Rains here now and may get rough later this afternoon.

  10. Hi Mary :) The flowers are lovely! We had lots of rain the last 24 hours from Elsa as well, it seems to have died down, I'm hoping for sunshine!
