On the road again!

Leaving you with a few photos taken this week as we head north
 to Washington D.C. and Virginia for a few days. . . . . . and
a change of scenery.  Weather forecast somewhat disappointing
for the weekend - packing a rain jacket and pair of short
Chelsea boots and I think they'll be worn a lot!
May is a strange month with such changeable weather.

Yes, the finches managed to quickly build a nest and lay eggs despite
us shooing them off the hanging basket, smart little feathered friends!
There were actually four this morning when I took a peek.

Managed to cut several peonies to enjoy in the house this week -
a few remaining in the garden but will be gone soon. . . . . . .if only the
gorgeous blooms would last longer!

The little fountain actually worked when I plugged it in. Each year I wonder if
it's going to give up, it's so old now!  If it keeps going I feel we will too!

Enjoy your weekend.

  1. Hope you have a lovely trip. Yes May seems to have its ups and downs. Your peonies are so lovely.

  2. Enjoy your time up DC way and and in Virginia. Maybe the weather frogs are wrong. ☔️

  3. Have a wonderful trip!

  4. The colour of those finches eggs is exquisite.

  5. Dear Mary,
Such happy sightings around your place - the finch eggs, the peonies, and your long-lasting fountain. No peonies here yet, and continuing chilly and wet, but there are flowers blooming and surely it will warm up soon. Enjoy your road trip!

  6. The pretty blue of the finches eggs and the powder pink of the peonies are perfection - have a lovely break you two and return home feeling refreshed.

  7. What a pretty little nest and eggs! Have an enjoyable trip away and I hope there'll still be some lovely peonies to greet you when you get back.

  8. May can be a fickle month, but so can every other month in the UK! May you and your little fountain continue to flow for many more seasons.

  9. How gorgeous peonies! Enjoy your trip!

  10. A change of scenery :) I think I remember what that used to mean, pre-Covid. It doesn't have to mean an overseas plane trip planned 12 months in advance. Just a few days opposite the beach would be perfect.

    Have a great time.

  11. Dearest Mary,
Oh, isn't that the truth about all what is blooming in our garden, for such a very brief time... Our Clematis hold on all summer though.
Lovely images and hope you enjoy your visit.

  12. Such beautiful eggs! Like Pat says, their colour is exquisite.
Enjoy your trip, no matter the weather!

  13. Have a wonderful trip! Even with the rain, a change of scenery is always a good thing.

  14. Such beautiful eggs! Love the colour! Have a lovely trip and enjoy every day...

  15. I hope you are having a terrific adventure.

I would enjoy reading your comment - thanks so much for stopping by.
