SWELTERING HEAT!

Still much too hot to be out here on the front porch.
104F today!
Even the trumpet vine looks frazzled.

Getting a bit tired of chilly meals so decided a quick oven flatbread wouldn't
overheat the kitchen too much.
Readymade crust by Stonefire topped with thinly sliced tomatoes and fresh
mozzarella, topped with a scattering of shredded low-moisture mozzarella,
salt and pepper - baked for 15 minutes.

Removed and topped with a garlicky basil and pine nut pesto whizzed in the
food processor, a few fresh basil leaves, and a dusting of grated parmesan.
It was really, really good, honest!!!!

Storms tonight brought much-needed rainwater to the garden.
Fortunately no damage in this area but the lightning was serious and scary!

  2. My, that is hot, rather like we get here in Queensland over our Summer. The pizza sounds very good indeed, and a perfect summer meal with a salad. When the temp goes over 100F I always serve salad and do very little cooking which just makes the house hotter. I am in love with your porch and the birdhouses - they are just beautiful.

  3. It looks VERY nice - my kind of meal!
Thunderstorms here on Friday night, another hot day on Saturday and still rather hot on Sunday, but much cooler today.

  4. Yes, one does grow tired of cold food even in the heat. Glad you enjoyed a tasty pizza. 🍕 Yay for rain in a parched garden, though thunder storms always alarm me.

  6. That looks tasty! We had had hotter than normal here in the mountains too. But only in the low 90's. Stay cool!

  7. It's so hot here too, but no rain. Large dark clouds to the south yesterday, but they stayed in the south. We need rain. What a good idea for a meal.

  8. We never get that sort of heat up here and we think we are suffering at 29 Celsius! Your flatbread supper looks so satisfying!

  9. That gave me a wonderful idea. I mean it did look so good but I don't have any flatbread... I wonder how I will get around that.
