Almost Spring afternoons -

Yesterday I was able to cut the first small bunch of golden yellow daffodils
for the house. . . . .how they brighten things up.
These sunny days are special, the garden is coming alive, full of
 promises. . . . and a lot of work!

Afternoon tea on the porch has been so enjoyable this week.
I used the spring colored citron colored Anthropologie mug.
It's quote 'EXPLORE' has been on hold a long time, but surely days
of getting out and about are coming soon.
While shuffling through my 'tea box' I found some interesting tea bags to try.
This green 'Passionate Pear' from TEALEAVES was a pleasant change.
I usually drink black tea but read that green tea is more healthy.
Do my tea specialist friends out there agree with this?

My knitting was put away after several months early in winter when I made
a few more cowls and scarves to warm cold necks.
Today an email came from that wonderful yarn and haberdashery shop in
London, LOOP, located in Camden Passage - take a look if you're a knitter,
you will love their offerings. The colors for spring are just so beautiful I may
be pulling out my needles again to knit something new.
If I ever get back to London this will be a go to shop for certain!

Have a fabulous weekend friends. . . . . . . .and a very happy
Mother's Day on Sunday to all the UK mums.
Here in the US our clocks go forward on Saturday night!

  4. The daffodils are so pretty! They're just now starting to peek out of the ground here. I'm not a big fan of black tea, unless it's iced tea. If I would happen to have a cup of hot black tea, it'd have to be Earl Grey. Otherwise, I drink a cup of organic green jasmine tea every morning. Both black and green teas are healthy, it's just that green tea has some more powerful antioxidants.

  5. Dear Mary, Have also heard that Green Tea is better for you. But I'm not an expert. I love your Daffodil bouquet and that charming little snowdrop tucked in between. I don't know their official name but know that they are related. I saw huge meadows full with them in Burgenland. I have tried them but they never lasted long in my garden.

  6. Daffodils - the flower of Wales and symbol of St David's day. They farm the bulbs near my house
No I don't agree about green tea - yuk - never got on with it, healthy or not - ha ha. But I love good black tea; there is proper old fashioned tea merchant near us - they do excellent dark brews.

  8. Scrumptious daffodils! It'll be a month or more before we see them here. Today my sister an I were running errands when the temperature were nearly 60.° We were so uncomfortably warm. She had to turn on the AC to give us some relief. I could have used a tall glass of iced tea...green or black...as long as it was wet.

  9. Fantastic daffodils, a very pretty bunch. And is that a snowdrop I see there as well? Maybe in about six months my little daffodil garden will produce a bloom or three... Pear tea sounds unique and delicious. I always drink black tea, or Camomile herbal tea. Hopefully both have antioxidants! Those wool colours are gorgeous - you must knit something and let us see it too :) Happy weekend dear Mary. xxx

  10. So beautiful, this bunch of spring flowers - not just the daffies, but also the ones we call March's cups; a small bouquet of those were always given to me on my birthday from my grandma, out of her own garden. So lovely and sweet of her!
I enjoy looking at the gardens I walk past when on my way to the supermarket, to my parents or elsewhere; pretty primroses, crocus and the last of the snowdrops are out. It will take a while before daffodils, tulips and magnolia come into flower here.

  11. The first daffodils are a joy to see, and I noticed that hidden amongst them you have some Leucojum vernum - spring snowflake, which we also have flowering in our garden at the moment - Anthropologie shops are closed here, currently only essential shops are open, but I do look forward to the time when they can reopen their doors again. The same goes for hairdressers too, so my hair will have to remain long, very long, until the third week in April.

  12. Your daffodils are beautiful Mary. I really like green tea, and I have also heard it is healthier than black.

  13. I'm a huge tea drinker. I like a cup of coffee in the morning, but I enjoy a cup of tea in the late afternoon and early evening. I, too, like it black, no cream. I've always loved English Breakfast and Earl Grey, but I like to try new teas. I discovered an India purveyor and I'm enjoying blends of turmeric leaves with ginger or cardamon. Turmeric has healing qualities, and I LOVE ginger.

I enjoy being your photos of blooms happening. I have spring shoots coming up everywhere and it makes me feel so happy that I did a fall cleanup...less work now-except maybe dog doo! 🤦🏼‍♀️

Love to you and Bob. Stay in touch!

  14. What pretty flowers from your garden and the yard is pretty too.
Passionate Pear sounds yummy. I have heard green tea is more healthy, but I have wondered about that since all teas come from the same camellia sinensis plant. I have wondered if it is the way it is processed that makes the difference, but I know all "real" teas have health benefits.
