"Good Morning Autumn"

A brief introduction to Autumn in North Carolina on this lovely Friday morning.

This morning at 7 AM the light on the fig tree was so beautiful
following our first cool night.

This made me jump! Our resident Charlie gecko clinging onto the dining
room window to wish me "good morning."

The last of the dahlia blooms still enticing the bumble bees.

Definitely a toast and marmalade morning!

Enjoy your weekend everyone.

    1. Geckos are small, mostly carnivorous lizards that have a wide distribution, found on every continent except Antarctica. Belonging to the infraorder Gekkota, geckos are found in warm climates throughout the world.
They range from 1.6 to 60 centimetres. via Wikipedia
They are harmless however I prefer they remain on the outside of the house where they apparently eat bugs! Our "Charlie" is about 20 centimetres from head to end of tail. We've had a few really tiny geckos this summer - so perhaps we have a pair hanging out here!!
      Nature never ceases to surprise.

  3. Dearest Mary,
What a beautiful and compact fig tree that is—indeed almost magical looking in that early morning light!
LOVE Charlie Gecko's picture. He has a healthy tummy!
And that bumblebee shot is incredible!
    Hugs,
    Mariette

  4. Hi Mary. Your fall sounds like it is off to a great start. We are monitoring a possible hurricane here expected to arrive early next week. I have a blog post up, that I hope you have a chance to read. https://www.enjoyingthesimplethings.com/all-good-things-must-come-to-an-end/

  6. Geckos are so cute, but it would scare me too, if I suddenly saw one on my screen! Love your fig tree...extra beautiful with the morning light on it.

  7. How beautiful, and right on cue, we have had our first hot nights! The golden light on the fig tree is stunning, and so is the dahlia with its pretty bumble bee. Happy pumpkin season, dear Mary. xo

  8. Beautiful autumn impressions! I love this time of year and hope that we‘ll have some more golden days ahead after what is going to be a wet and chilly weekend.

  9. I Love your resident gecko - oh to have those in Wales! I have been away from blogging for some time - the pattern of this last year I'm afraid - but have looked back over your posts. I am pleased that you came to the UK this year; I wonder if you still think of it as home. Deed down, I sense I will return one day to the North East - full circle, but not quite yet, eh!

  12. I love your review of the beginning of Fall. The cooler nights are so wonderful for sleeping. The dahlias are still beautiful. I think we savor them knowing it is almost to the end of blooming season. And what a cute greeting from a gecko.
