A change in the air. . . . . . . .

If you are celebrating Labor Day have a great time.
Hurricane Hermine has certainly made the holiday weekend a bit of a
wash out for many on the east coast. Fortunately we got off lightly,
mostly saturating rain on Friday, but thankfully no strong winds bringing
down trees or causing power outages in my neighborhood.
I feel for those who have damage from the storm in surrounding areas.

Just one week until my big trip. I have plenty ahead to clear my
To Do list, so my Labor Day will be busy.

  2. Seems the storm has caused much damage along its path. Sadly summer won't be ending here anytime soon. It was 117 F yesterday. Ugh! And has been so humid since I got back. I certainly don't mind hanging out at home after driving 5000 kms while in the States. Take care!

  4. Lucky for you. The loss of power is devastating for me. We had a household generator installed just for that. We got a little chimney damage I found from the quake - in Oklahoma. It was really loud and shaking for a minute.

  8. Lovely mosaic of summer's flowers, Mary. I'm glad the hurricane wasn't too bad for you. Busy days ahead as you prepare for your trip! I canned a batch of applesauce, roasted two pans full of tomatoes, did a little laundry, and some sewing. School starts tomorrow and I'm prepared on the home front! Have a great week.

  10. Not a big celebration here...just stayed home with hubby and son. We grilled and had a lovely dinner together. Glad you got off lightly with the storm.

  11. Even if we were in the states, we don't really celebrate Labor Day. The only memory I have is my father's side of the family has their family reunion every Labor Day weekend. I miss it. Most of those I was close with are sadly, passing away. :/

Anyway...glad to hear you weekend was off to a good start. Best wishes on your upcoming trip!! :)
