Gardening for Christmas -

Other than raking, gathering and piling the leaves - and no sooner that's done
more fall - there's not much gardening going on around here!

Very different weather this morning.
Rain, steady but light, temperature a few degrees above freezing
(could have been snow if colder), enough to dampen down the dust and
put a sheen on the gazebo now sporting the annual Christmas tree
to brighten up the dark nights.

While working out there yesterday, our family of Eastern bluebirds returned
to enjoy the birdbaths and suet feeders. I managed a few quick photos of this
handsome male, so colorful at this time of year. . . . . . and they brought me
much happiness.

Christmas preparations are in full swing here, although mine are much
more simple than those of many younger bloggers I've noticed.
Did I used to have that much energy?
Do I wish I still could do all that?
Yes of course.

  1. From what you said in your last post, your Christmas preparations are keeping you busy and require quite a lot of energy, too - I wouldn't know how and when to fit it all in!
The bird pictures are lovely, worth a postcard. Have you ever thought about creating calendars for your friends and family with the great photos you take?

  2. Your gazebo looks great with the Christmas tree inside. We had freezing rain this morning here.

  3. Hi Mary :) I love your gazebo tree! The bluebirds are so sweet. Christmas preparations are happening here too. I'm happy it's just me and Alex, otherwise, I'd be too stressed out! :)

  4. Oooo, your photos are lovely. Beautiful poses from your bluebirds. We've got lots of snow and it's snowing again today. So no rain here; we're glad for that, it would make the roads and sidewalks perilous to be on.

We're getting in the Christmas mood. Decorations are slowly going up. A tall pencil thin tree with soft white lights sits in the front window to add sparkle to our neighbourhood. Twinkle lights are adding cozy corners everywhere. Will be putting up the greenery soon.

    Wishing you a beautiful weekend,
    Brenda

  6. Well, I don't know. It seems to me that in fact you did plenty of xmas prep! Your home decor spectacular, the food prep divine, etc. Really, it's very impressive, esp if spending the day just the the two of you or what have you.

That Eastern bluebirds is simply stunning, btw!
