Southwestern skies -

Our family get together sharing a fabulous Thanksgiving dinner was more fun than you can imagine. We were 15 family members, aged 2 to 83, a family friend, and two young female soldiers from nearby Fort Huachuca invited to join us as they couldn't get home for Thanksgiving.
Later, on the way back to our hotel we were under this beautiful Arizona sky. It had rained softly on and off earlier in the day. . . . . .but was welcomed as there had been no rain here for 55 days! It settled the dust and freshened the trees and shrubs.

Heading to a winery today in sunshine and a perfect, for me, 65F - who knew there are vineyards in southern Arizona!  I certainly don't need more wine after yesterday - but I'm hoping to see some lovely scenery long the way!

  2. Oh wow - from 2 to 82. I was trying to think what the ages would be in my family - and actually they would be 1 to 84! Four generations, and although the one year old is in Miami we did all meet up this year at a family wedding. It is certainly not 65 degrees here - more like 80mph winds coming this weekend. Take care.

  3. Dearest Mary,
Such a rain was a blessing for the landscape, no doubt.
You got a nice sky picture with reds and tall palm tree.
    Enjoy your remaining time.
    Hugs,
    Mariette

  7. Dear Mary, I am happy for you that you were able to have this wonderful gathering - a true reason to give thanks for! I also love it that two soldiers were invited to join.
    The sky is beautiful!
We are headed fast towards another lockdown in this country, with numbers shooting through the roof. It is unlikely that we can have gatherings of a similar size for Christmas.

  8. Beautiful sky, better than here when we have had one hundred miles an hour winds and snow (and below freezing temperatures)
