    1. The weather and colors are certainly a blessing this weekend Lorrie - and the nights are chilly with woodsmoke fragrance and a lovely clear waxing moon. It's a please to step outside. Neighbors visited both Fri. and Sat. evenings, one bringing cake, the other wine - no complaining here! Tonight we'll light a fire while we watch our favorite PBS shows - Call The Midwife, Grandchester and Baptiste - and I'll get more knitting done!!!!!!!
      Hugs - Mary

    1. Lovely to see you here today Tammy - Bob was just asking how you were doing!
I know Autumn is different for you - and I must admit I would miss it terribly if I lived in a climate where there were perhaps no maples, oaks, hickorys, dogwoods etc. which give us such a show of gorgeous colors.
We're doing pretty good for old folks thanks!
Hope all good with you of course XX

  6. What a glorious gallery of colour and mood. I so envy the birds you have in your garden. We saw a kestrel today, an increasingly rare sight round here - windhovers we used to call them.

    1. Yes, our birds are lovely, and we have several types of hawks flying over - sharp-shinned, red-tailed, turkey vultures etc. Small dogs and bunny rabbits need to be looked out for!

  7. Dear Mary - a lovely and inspiring collection of autumnal photos. I really like the one with the treelined road - everything about it is perfection. Gold is very slowly arriving here too, but I wonder why it is so late this year?

    1. That road is actually the one from my brother's village to the Medieval village of Mirapoix in southwestern France. It was beautiful when we traveled it one day in Autumn. . . . . in what feels now like another time in the world.
Hugs coming your way in autumn gold dear friend.

  9. Marilyn -
That's my MOTTAHEDEH reproduction TORQUAY (my hometown) pattern with TOR BAY seaweeds and shells in a beautiful green with a dull gold edge. I have just 4 pieces, dinner plate, side plate, and the cup and saucer for afternoon tea some days. It's really pretty and brings home closer.

  10. Dear Mary, these are very lovely autumnal photos, thank you ! I do love the arrangement in groups (haven't found out how to do that).
Whom is the statue representing? The poster of "Radio Times": smashing.
And you remind me to buy a bird bath for the Bavarian balcony, I will not find such a beauty as yours. At the moment the birds are using the rainwater gutter on the roof over the balcony - but I miss to watch the excessive bath rites of the blackbirds :-)

    1. Bust is of Roman mythology classic 'Diana the Huntress' - a reproduction joyfully found in an antiques shop in the North Carolina mountains many years ago! Note I have hung some vintage shirt collars around her graceful neck for another layer of fun!
I make my collages in PicMonkey - in fact do all editing there as it's quite easy.
Hope you find a lovely bath to watch your visiting birds.
      Hugs - stay warm.
