Sultry SuzAnna's.......

OK people - it's time to get out of the kitchen, and away from the stove and the store.............when days are hot and humid as they have been since I returned home. No better place to be than the beach in July......or at least somewhere close to the water......but I need to have some time around the cottage catching up on things.

Last week I had some time to visit SuzAnna's Antiques for a little treasure hunting with my wonderful friend Vanessa. Sadly (for us) we found that Susie and Jenny had hopped, skipped and jumped to the coast for a little R&R. Know these gals deserve a break though, as much as I love SuzAnna's I know how unbearably hot it can get in the Summer with no central a/c under that tin roof!

They left the shop in good hands, and it was definitely sparkly clean and crammed to the gills with anything your little heart could desire.

If you're one of those brave souls who still lights up the oven on a really hot day.........there was plenty of vintage cookware.........
.....but also lots of pretty china if you prefer, as I do, to sit and sip a cuppa with a cookie baked in someone else's hot kitchen!
I fell for this dresser (there's a lovely attached mirror which you can't see here) painted with all the rage chalk paint - the grey and cream look amazing together. I just know it will sell fast so enjoy while you can!

Nice grouping of prints...............I have no wall space remaining so have to pass on anything requiring hanging, unless I take something down!

At Sarah's booth I oohed and aahed over this lovely chest of drawers - she's a great furniture painter and sign maker, and look at the cute burlap bunting for a wedding.

Vintage linen tea towel was really pretty......and we all can use some shade these days, no matter which tree is giving it!

Outdoors, loved these very old iron gate posts..........and the rusty stars made me recall those perfectly clear starry, starry nights in Africa, so beautiful.

Isn't she sweet, perhaps it's the French blue flower pinned to that little lace cap, or the red hair! This dolly is adorable....they just don't make baby dolls like this anymore.
I love finding things at SuzAnna's......and next visit I hope I find the girls are back too!

  1. Good morning Mary. I saw a lot of nice goodies at SuzAnna's shop in these pictures. The book, Sammi the Seal, looks so familiar but I'm not sure if it was one my kids liked or one from my childhood. I love the old doll and carriage - they have a lot of charm. It's still very hot and humid here too and we need rain. I'm having a tea party this afternoon and we have no a/c. Hugs, Pamela

    1. I spy another TRAVEL POST this morning .... not time yet. I fully intend to immerse myself in the photos and text of your recent adventure. In one sitting!!! Off today for a four day trip - no internet access. That's going to feel different. Have a lovely weekend, Mary.

  8. It's always fun to visit SuzAnna's. I would love the chalk painted chest of drawers. I also am running out of wall space, but love those three pictures. Tried to see more of the details, but couldn't make them any bigger. The sweet blue flower does make that baby doll just about perfect. And though I try to ignore pretty dishes as I have too many, I still can't resist a peak and maybe buy.
