My granddaughter Jasmin took these photos at Lake Almanor. She used my camera when we were walking back from our early morning visit to the little coffee shop - where she would like to work next Summer if she can - near Paula's lake house. Jasmin has a fancy SLR camera and takes great photographs - have to admit she does OK using my less fancy digital point and shoot also.
As an almost 15 year old heading to high school this coming week, cars and driver's education seem to be subjects in recent conversations with Jasmin - and that is very scary. Of course she won't be driving for a long time - at age 32 if granddad has his say!!! Meanwhile, instead of coveting one of several Porsche convertibles in the parking lot of the coffee shop, she fell in love with this old faded turquoise truck parked in the small garden center next door. Nice photo op - especially with the beautiful purple flowers softening the metal of the vehicle.
More flowers in the pots and flower beds around the coffee shop.
The northern California sunshine certainly brings out Nature's colors and Jasmin's pics are fabulous.
I think I love this truck too! Perhaps because it almost looks 'girly' and I could see taking a road trip in it.
One of my favorite shots I took of Jasmin at the lake - coming in from a wave runner ride. She's definitely in a turquoise mode with that life jacket. Now wants to paint her bedroom this color!
Summer turquoise!
Such gorgeous photographs! Jasmin really has an eye.
ReplyDeleteAnd I can totally see why she loves that truck.
Mary, these are beautiful photos that Jasmin took. She is very good with the camera and has a good eye for it. I love the turquoise truck!
ReplyDeleteI would agree with Jasmin - that truck is fabulous! I have fantasies of going off on a flea market jaunt in one of those. Please tell Jasmin her photos are beautiful.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for stopping by, Mary! I've read all your California posts, even though I wasn't always commenting. Some days after the surgery, all I could do was read blog posts. Your vacation sounds absolutely wonderful. How I would love, love to be on a lake right now.

Jasmine has an artist's eye for a good photo. What sharp, clear pictures...so gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteThat pickup truck is the perfect color of turquoise! No wonder she loves it.

Jasmin is a wonderful photographer. She not only takes great pictures, but she knows a great subject when she sees one! That truck is fabulous...yes, I could see a road trip in it!!

Jasmin is growing up way too fast and she gets more beautiful by the day...Granddad needs to beware :)
ReplyDeleteTell her I said hello.
Jasmin has an excellent eye for composition. And that first photo -- wow!
ReplyDeleteI can see you two off for a road trip in the turquoise truck. Like Thelma and Louise but with a happy ending.
She takes great photos. I've read that turquoise is the in color this year for walls.
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness, what beautiful photographs Mary. Jasmin quite puts me to shame. She certainly has the 'eye' and the talent!
ReplyDeleteJasmin is very artistic with her photos, plus just plain beautiful. I hope she can work next summer by the turquoise. I love it too. Now I can picture it pulling a sweet vintage trailer.
ReplyDeleteFantastic photos. Bravo, Jasmin! The old truck speaks to my heart, too - but I'm an oldie like the truck!
ReplyDeleteYour granddaughter Jasmin is pretty and a good photographer.
