Perfect place to spend Saturday……………

Hang on to your Spring hats, or warm beanies if you're up north!
It was so worthwhile visiting SuzAnna's Antiques this weekend - I just have to share
some of the great things on offer. The crowds were enormous
being it was such a gorgeous day.

I also took pics of Easter vignettes - I'll share
those closer to the holiday.
I must admit I was NOT unable to walk away from the best
little shop in town - well it's bigger than ever these
days - without something new after all!
Will show you you my lucky find at a later date.

  1. I just love having a peek in Suzanna's shop. I saw an olive bucket...been wanting one for the longest time!

I think I heard through the grapevine that you were going to be off on another adventure in June. We will be in your neck of the woods for 2 weeks; the last week of May and first week of June. It would be so great to meet up! We are planning a few small trips while there and Raleigh would be lovely to see! :) Let me know if you have any openings in that busy schedule of yours.

  4. Some very interesting objects. Appealing chest of drawers, even though the colour is not my taste. What are those white square things in the last photo? They look like moulds for making something, but I can not see why there would be so any? Or as they trims that are to be glued onto corners? Excess hardware stock? Branding irons for errant husbands?

    1. Well as you can imagine, I'm chuckling as only you can make me Louise! "Branding irons for errant husbands" - what a hoot! Actually I wondered myself and picked one up because I love anything with a fleur-de-lis. They appeared to be porcelain tiles. Perhaps one here and there in a backsplash behind the sink might work - but rows and rows of them would drive me crazy and I'd never want to see another!!!!
I love the chest too - it's painted in Annie Sloan's 'Napoleonic Blue' chalk paint and is quite lovely up close.

Nice to hear from you as always. See you're hot with some rain in Darwin……….doesn't it ever cool a wee bit?

  5. Not sure why it stands out so much to me, but I absolutely LOVE that painting of the woman's face (in your second photograph). Perhaps it's her Farrah Fawcett hair, or her rosy cheeks? It's so cute!

  6. Ooh, lovely glimpses of Susanna's shop. My eye was drawn to those cast iron (?) fleur de lis. Beautiful pieces.

  7. Oh I agree - what a wonderful way to spend a weekend. And I just knew you were going to find a treasure that you couldn't leave without. If I lived closer I know I'd be haunting that place and finding treasures too.

  11. Of course, we must walk away with something, even if it something small. Photos too for sure.
How I would love walk through this shop with you. Each time you post pictures from SuzAnna's
