Suppose...................

.................Spring didn't come!

Photos from frosty mornings.

Tonight and tomorrow night we'll be bombarded again with a deep freeze.
Temperatures will plummet, remaining far below freezing for night and early
morning hours. I'm thinking of ways to save some of the budding
shrubs, particularly the hydrangeas now showing bright green shoots.
Last year this occurred and the usual wonderful display of blue
mophead blooms in summer never happened. I really missed them.
Old sheets will be pulled out of the linen closet this evening and tossed
in a ghostly fashion over the shrubs. . . . . fingers crossed that will help.
Azaleas will have to fend for themselves I'm afraid, we have so many
 and the bushes are huge.

However, they are on their way . . . . . . those lovely days of sun,
blue skies, green leaves, warmth.
We'll throw off the heavy jackets, put the boots in storage, clean the car,
service the mower, cut the new grass . . . . . . . and be extremely thankful.

  2. It was 8 degrees her in southern Indiana this morning. 🥶. Hopefully my hydrangeas aren’t as far along as yours! Hope you have a beautiful Spring this year, full of all kind of blossoms.

  3. All the best to you hydrangeas...! It is sad to see your plants not coming to blossom as they normally would, but at least it does not affect your livelihood as if you were farming.

  4. The weather seems to constantly be all over the place. Spring came too early in many places and when winter makes a comeback, the plants suffer. ItsI looking and feeling like spring here.

  5. It's always sad when trees are budding and then another freeze comes. Happens every year here, too but won't be for about another six weeks. I'm staring out the window at bare branches and snow-covered ground. And it's still so cold - only 2 degrees with the wind chill right now. Spring still seems so far away.
