Green and gorgeous . . . . . . . and a Birthday!

Today is special. . . . .
. . . . .and so is he!

After all the hoopla celebrating America's birthday on Independence Day, another
birthday rolled around for my dear husband as the fireworks filled the late night sky.
As a little boy his mom told him the fireworks were to announce his impending arrival
on July 5th!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY dearest Bob, and here's to many, many more!

Not Ireland, but just as green . . . . .  . .if you plan a visit in springtime.

Looking through older photos from travels, I came across these taken in Sicily
in May 2017, reinforcing my great affinity for 'the color green.'
Leaving the coast of the island for the high rolling vineyards of the interior,
the incredible changes in the landscape were breathtaking.

There will be more posts to come featuring Ireland. . . . . taking a little posting
 break while working on them.
So hot here. . . . .our own green garden patch is struggling, fading by the day.

  2. Happy Birthday, Bob! Think of that refreshingly cool Ireland when you feel too hot around your garden :-)

Mary, I used to spent every summer on Sicily for 10 years (having married a Sicilian first time around), but have never seen it in the spring. By the time we arrived each summer, it was just browns, yellows and dusty greys everywhere. Still a beautiful island, if only its inhabitants would take better care of it.

  3. Happy Birthday, Bob! It was great to meet you last September. I wish you many happy returns of the day!

Weather is such a funny thing, funny odd, not funny haha. Here it's cooler than usual and the sky is dull. That does keep the flowers like hydrangeas blooming for longer, so I'll be content with that. I've finally relaxed into a summer mode and am enjoying catching up on blog reading - I have a lot of your Ireland posts to read - and in between I work in the garden or putter in the house. Stay as cool as possible, Mary!

  7. Hope you have had a great day Bob and that this evening too will be fun. Sizzling hot dogs, neighbours and friends, and may be a glass or two - what could be better than that.

  9. Wishing you a belated Happy Birthday Bob and many more to come! I hope you had a fun day!
The greens are wonderful dear Mary, rather like NZ which is very green just now after a few rainy days!
I’m not enjoying the cold temperatures this winter so I haven’t ventured into the garden for a while.
My roses and hydrangeas need pruning...... they can wait!
Hope you’re feeling better. Everyone seems to have colds here - they go with the season. Fingers crossed I escape them!
