................of Saigon. We're loving all we see in this city of nine million people. However, once outside the city, such as in the Mekong Delta today, we're enjoying the countryside and the river even more........
Tomorrow Paula and fly to the old city of Hue for a couple of days. We'll then make a quick visit to the colonial port city of Hoi An before flying from Da Nang on the first leg of a long trip home. Da Nang back to Saigon, on to Seoul, Korea, then Shanghai, China, and finally the long haul across the Pacific to San Francisco.
Oh I wish we had had time to visit Viet Nam. I hear it is so beautiful. The beautiful ladies are definitely beautiful. I especially love the photo of the woman in the boat. It looks like a photo out of a magazine.
ReplyDeleteThe colors and composition of that third picture are superb. What an adventure, not least because Hue and DaNang are now tourist destinations. Amazing.
ReplyDeleteAmazing that a place that was so feared for so long is now such a wonderful tourist destination.
ReplyDeleteSail on!....
wow, I haven't seen hair that long since Crystal Gale back in the 80's!
ReplyDeleteMary, this has certainly been an amazing year for you with all of your travels. I love reading and seeing everything you share with us.
ReplyDeleteAmazing shots, how different it is to perceived expectations.
ReplyDeleteMy former husband spent a year in DaNang, 1967-68. It's interesting to read your post this evening as earlier today I was pouring over letters he mailed to us every day he was there. The Marine hospital was his 'home' away from home. I love the photos, especially the long-haired women wearing lovely patterns.
