Paris on St. Valentine's Day......

Just a little post for St. Valentine's Day to tell
that special man in my life that I love him...........

.......that he is still very dear to me, and
that I am grateful to him for all the many
wonderful things we've shared over the years.

Even though I grew up just across
the English Channel, I didn't see Paris until Bob
took me on my first magical visit in 1968, a few
years after I'd emigrated to
the USA and we were married.
You'll have to agree, tourism was apparently much
more formal then! I made my knit suit, recall
fondly the crocodile embossed bag with the chain handles,
and although you can't see them, I was was
trotting around Paris in elegant high heels!

Bob has a big heart and is a
dear man......how he's
put up with me all these years
I'll never know!

Paris, Summer 2006 ~ photo taken by our granddaughter Jasmin who was with us.

We're standing on top of the
Arc de Triomphe de L'Étoile, looking a lot
more casual (t-shirt, backpack,
and comfy Converse on my hot, aching feet). Whew, was
it ever hot that Summer, 94 degrees at the Tour Eiffel.

Hey Bob, even though we've been to Paris several times, it's about time for a new Paris picture......how about planning another visit soon to one of our favorite cities!

A very happy, filled with love, St. Valentine's Day
to you and your loved ones.

  2. Mary - Great Post, especially for Valentines day. I love Paris, and as My Companies HQ is their, although parked out in the suburb of Massy, I love visiting, eating the food, and just soaking up the ambience.
    Have a great Hawaii trip.

  9. Well, Mary, if your busy travel schedule allows for any free time over the next several years, we can consider crossing the pond once again to revisit Paris. Perhaps even find time for Prague, Vienna, Budapest or St. Petersburg and points in between and beyond.

    Your DH,

    Bob

  11. Mary, what fun to see you two standing there in the City of Love. No need to tell you, it's my favorite spot too. Even though we were just there in October, I'm ready to return.

  14. Mary, have a wonderful time with Bob in Hawaii. Wow you looked really elegant in Paris and Bob so handsome, coco Chanel elegance. Trotting around Paris in high heel..what else! So many years together says it all, you belong together.
Just seen Bobs comment, now you enjoy the time together and see you plan another visit to Paris. Our daughter spent Christmas and New year there and was smitten, absolutely loved it and wants to return.
Look forward to the sun shine photographs of Hawaii. Hope you got the packing done. Love to you both, Eileenx

  16. Oh my goodness! Look at the two of you! Such a beautiful couple then and definitely now. Love the suit you made, and yes I remember traveling all dressed up. I still get dressed up to travel! I hope all of you are having a wonderful time right now as it is gray, rainy, miserable here, and I've heard your area is expecting snow!
    Take Care,
    Ulrike
