Shall we decorate?

They were dragged out of the attic yesterday.............several of those green storage boxes announcing 'decor central', set up on the floor in the upstairs office. A contained mess of sorts, and a time for memories, a few giggles, and some sighs, as each loved item was unwrapped from the white tissue paper.

I changed my mind. "No space for a live tree" was forgotten Saturday when visiting The Vintage Village to collect granddaughter from work at 'SuzAnna's Antiques'.

Sam's 'Country Porch' was loaded with beautiful fresh-cut North Carolina Fraser Firs, just in from the western mountains. The fragrance of pine permeated the evening air, and when I felt the glowing needles, pine sap stayed on my hands and the smell was captivating. A small 4 foot tree, already in a stand to hold water, seemed the perfect size to tuck into the corner of the dining room.

The little 4 foot fir came home with us..........a jolly carload in the crisp evening air.......the granddaughter, Cathy the large stuffed elephant from IKEA whom the granddaughter also fell for (I'm sharing), the Christmas tree, and some extra fir clippings to use in the decorating.

What can I conjure up from all these pretties?

I started decorating yesterday afternoon after Bob
and I spent the morning raking and hauling
fallen leaves again. Today I'll be going full
steam ahead and hopefully Christmas will soon
be visible here in the cottage..........
I'll show you later.

  9. How fun to see decorations laying there in wait. I can't wait to see what you do with them.
Decorating has begun here, but won't finish until Saturday night after we get the tree on Saturday.
Some shopping done today, almost done now, except for food and a few loose ends. Then I
can play in the kitchen, something I don't do much of these days and miss. Have fun with
the decorating and so glad you found a little tree to tuck in the house.
