You and me both, Mary. I'm ready for Fall. As a matter of fact, I am going sweater shopping with my daughter and little Gwynn today. :))) Thanks for the morning laugh. I may put your comment in big letters at the well. Scalliwags! Deb p.s. Love the new header.
Dear Mary, You did it! Not many take the time to preserve from their gardens. Just think how you and those who are lucky enough to receive, will enjoy your Summer bounty when winter comes around.
We are enjoying our summer - mid to high 70s and sunshine. I was looking at your photo of the figs and saw a bug crawling in the picture, I wondered how did you ever get that little bug to crawl about in a picture, until I finally realized that it was a little bug on my screen - it sure did look like it was crawling in among the figs. Fun way to start the day with something silly.
I saw some at the Fresh Market the other day and thought of you! Our temps are going to be in the 80's all week here instead of the 90's so I am grateful. How exciting for Jasmin to head off too college. So sweet that Bob gifted her his car. We miss you too. Hopefully you might be able to come this way soon! xo Penny
We are eating our figs but as a savoury at the moment - figs split in two sandwiched together with blue cheese - stilton is my choice - then rolled up in a continental air dried ham and roasted - delicious.
Yummy-sounding Rosemary! I did a baked salmon on fig leaves and potatoes with a fresh fig salsa a few days back - delicious too! they are so versatile, sweet or savory. I love Stilton too! Mary -
A BREATH OF FRESH AIR is a fresh version of my former three year blog ACROSS THE POND which can still be accessed by clicking on the title above. I'm a transplanted Brit enjoying life in North Carolina.
Sixty one years of journeying back and forth across the wide Atlantic Ocean have kept me busy…….and made my life very interesting! Although I've now visited all seven continents, I continue to travel and look forward to sharing new places around the world. I love taking photos! All images are my own unless noted otherwise. Please do not use my photos without a request. I enjoy sharing and will usually say OK!
